Fruits are first frozen, and then the water content is removed via sublimation. Freeze-drying can cost up to five times as much as traditional dehydration methods such as sun drying and keeps the fruit crunchy and in its original form factor.
Freeze-dried fruit retain the majority of the nutrients of the original fruit and, due to their form, contain significantly less sugar than dehydrated fruits.
We started TALA with a simple philosophy: Fruit snacks should be made of fruit. We grew up enjoying fruit snacks of all kinds but corn syrup isn't a replacement for nature's best! So, we package freeze-dried fruit into convenient pouches to offer a single ingredient fruit snack that's guaranteed to satisfy.
